Fort Charlotte - Protecting Nassau Harbour

I have a substitute photographer this week! John is in town this week and spent Monday getting to know Nassau  while I brought home the bacon! So he gets publishing rights for these photos.

The fort was constructed in the late 18th century by British colonial governor Lord Dunmore after the end of the American Revolutionary war. The fort has never been used in battle.

The fort protected the beautiful Nassau port.

The fort now protects one of the largest cruise ship in the world, Oasis of The Seas

Faith in The Bahamas

St. Francis Xavier Church- the original (above) was build in 1885 and the new church build in 2003 is connected by an arch way.

The Parish of St. Mary The Virgin
This is the church in my neigbourhood, what I liked most was the way the sun made the stain glass pop out.

Snorkeling in Bahamas

This past weekend two very good friends escaped the damp weather in Ottawa for a few days of sun and rum in Bahamas! Here are a few pictures from our snorkeling trip.

Awesome weekend!
